That’s why today I’m sharing a few of my favorite flavor pairings that are also a bit unconventional, accompanied by recipe inspiration. Read on if you’re willing to take a walk on the wild side!

Raspberry + Peanut Butter

I mentioned peanut butter and jelly as a classic flavor pairing above. Typically, we see peanut butter paired with jelly flavors such as grape and strawberry, but the sweet tartness of raspberries creates a flavor unlike any other!

Try It: I like to spread peanut butter on a piece of toast and top it with fresh raspberries.

Strawberry + Basil

The idea of using basil in any recipe with a sweet fruit may seem a bit absurd, but I promise it is absolutely delicious. Basil and strawberry may be an odd combination but the peppery nature of basil makes for a great complement to the sweetness of the strawberry. It’s also very refreshing,

Olive Oil + Ice Cream

Olive oil ice cream is quite popular with foodies lately! First popularized by Chef Mario Batali, olive oil gelato is a definitely a favorite among food lovers.

The olive oil combined with heavy cream creates an amazingly smooth texture. This texture, combined with a subtly savory flavor is divine!
