Many of you remember my friend Sara James from when she anchored the evening news at WBTV, where I hosted the noontime talk show. From the moment we met, we shared a mutual respect, rapport, and friendship. I was amazed at the way she could deliver devastating information on camera with such wisdom, grace, and style. She wondered how I could talk and cook at the same time. We had fun!
Sara’s wonderful talent moved her on to New York where she has reported extensively for The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, and for Dateline NBC. She has crisscrossed the country and circled the globe as a network correspondent, winning every major award given in the news broadcast industry.
She now lives with her husband and children in Australia! Keeping up with the latest in Sara’s life is always a delight. She has written wonderful books, like the one she wrote with her best childhood friend appropriately titled The Best of Friends. Sara now appears on several ABC network broadcasts in Australia. One of her most popular segments, An American in Oz has become the title of another book.
My friend is an award-winning journalist, author, and international speaker and she can cook, too! I thought you would enjoy this recipe that she shared with me a while back. This favorite appetizer is great for the holidays with its green and red colorful ingredients, but everyone loves it year round.
While enjoying her recipe, you might want to look up Sara’s books on Amazon. They make wonderful Christmas gifts.
Tell Me: Do you have a favorite guacamole?
