pork loin dinner

Happy New Year! Today is the first day of a new year and a new opportunity to look forward to new opportunities.

For instance, the greens are meant to represent a financially prosperous year, the black-eyed peas symbolize prosperity and the pork, good luck. As the story goes, since the pig is unable to look side-to-side or behind itself, pork is a reminder for us to also look forward to a New Year with new possibilities.
